- The city of Ibbenbueren intends to upgrade the Ibbenbuerener Aasee and to improve the ecological state of the Ibbenbuerener AA. In addition to aspects of local recreation, water management aspects and water ecology are relevant. As part of a water -building measure, in the areathe upper AA between Lake Aasee and the Ostring are mobilized by the development potential of the water. For this purpose, a natural sand trap is to be created, the existing sole crash is dismantled and the AA is being redesigned on a flow route of approx. 1,200 meters (in the new course)become.
