- Zollernstrasse is a main urban road that connects the upper town from Obertorplatz with the B27, exit Sued, towards Bisingen-Wessingen and towards the districts of Stetten and Boll. The Fuerstengarten and residential areas lie along the Zollernstrasse.
According to surveys from the yearIn 2019 (before Obertorplatz was renovated), around 3,900 motor vehicles drove here every working day. Parking is permitted on approx. 50 spaces along the street. Parking is largely shared using the sidewalk (sign 315 StVO) on the east side of Zollernstrasse within marked areas. deThe sidewalk is severely restricted as a result. Numerous plots of land have access to traffic via Zollernstrasse.
The main everyday and leisure route of the RadNETZ BW, which leads from Tuebingen via Hechingen to Balingen and on to Rottweil or Sigmaringen, runs via Zollernstrasse. Besides thata designated tourist cycle path leads over the Zollernstrasse (Zollerntour). Representative surveys on the volume of bicycle traffic are not available.
The road length of the section to be planned is approx. 800 mdescribed it with the condition grade 3.5-4.5 (category: poor condition). The road has very severe damage to the surface. The existing road substructure is not frost-proof and shows subsidence. Curbs are missing or not available at all.
