Prepare the Pre-Feasibility Study on the Turgen Mountain Resort Project, Enabling Government to Select Optimal Scenario for Project-S Development Turgen Mountain Resort Development - Project Implementation Firm Approval Date: 26-Apr-2021 Deadline of Submitting EOI: 03-Jul-2021 11:59 PM Manila local time Estimated Short-listing Date: 30-Jun-2021 Estimated Commencement Date: 30-Jul-2021 Estimated Commencement Date: 207,000 USD Engagement Period: 7 MONTH Objective and Purpose of the Assignment Operations of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Kazakhstan aim to lessen Kazakhstan-s dependence on the export of basic commodity such as oil and gas and diversify its economy, reduce inequalities, and promote sustainable development, addressing vulnerabilities associated with climate change. Over the past few years, in response to the country-s needs, ADB has committed to expanding its operations in Kazakhstan both through financing of public and private sector loans and technical assistance grants in several sectors, including finance, transport, agriculture, urban infrastructure, energy, and tourism. Objective of the assignment is to prepare the pre-feasibility study on the Turgen mountain resort project, enabling government to select optimal scenario for project-s development. The project fits within the overall Almaty-Bishkek Economic Corridor (ABEC) cluster approach on creating an internationally competitive tourism region within ABEC. As part of the work, the consultants will also propose a focused strategy for strengthening communication with local groups and organizations involved with various mountain sports and activities as well as with the development of tourism and the preservation of the environment. Consultants will also support the organization and smooth conducting of meetings, missions, and workshops, including the preparation of materials and briefing notes as requested by ADB staff.
